RSS (Really Simple Syndication) Feeds
RSS is an XML format that allows you to distribute digital content automatically. RSS is typically used to distribute news headlines and articles to sites that subscribe to the feed. However, RSS can be used to automatically distribute just about any type of digital content from your site or database.
Rivals.com uses RSS to distribute its exclusive subscriber-only content. Subscribers who use the feed can always see the latest Rivals' content without having to refresh their browser window every few minutes. Typically, these subscribers use an application called an aggregator to view this content. However, RSS can also be used to distribute content to other web sites.
Alliance Software has developed RSS feeds for several clients, and can help you implement RSS to distribute your content. Please contact us for a free consultation.
